Updating Digital Certificates for RiSCAN PRO with an internet connection

1.      Go to your RiSCAN PRO installation directory (usually C:\Program Files\Riegl_LMS\RiSCAN_PRO), right click the RiSCAN_PRO.exe and click "Properties".

2.      On the "Digital Signatures" Tab click on the "RIEGL Laser Measurements Systems..." signature and then click "Details".

3.      Check if it reads "This digital signature is OK." (see screenshot).

If it reads "This digital signature is OK." then go back to RiSCAN PRO and run the import again as before. You shouldn't get this particular error any more and the problem is fixed.

The reason why it works now is because opening the "Digital Signatures Details" dialog causes Windows to connect to the Internet and update it's Digital Certificate database.

If the "Digital Signatures" tab is missing or reads that the signature is "Not OK" then this can have the following reasons:

1.      Your computer could not connect to the Internet to update it's Digital Certificate database. If this is the case then please ensure a one time Internet connection to allow it to update its database and check the signature again if it reads "Ok" this time. If an internet connection is not possible, please see this article.

2.      Your RiSCAN_PRO.exe is broken. If this is the case then please reinstall RiSCAN PRO and check if the signature now reads "Ok".

If the Computer has an Internet connection and the re-installation of RiSCAN PRO did not fix the signature to read "Ok" then please send us your "RiSCAN_PRO.exe" as well as your "SetupRiSCAN_PRO_64_bit_2.19.exe" so that we can check if it is indeed broken.
Please let us know if you need an FTP Link to upload your data to and we will send you one.
