Migrating Digital Certificates for RiSCAN PRO without an Internet connection

How to get Digital Certificates working on a computer without an Internet connection

To migrate your Digital Certificates onto another machine, follow the following steps:

Export the certificates

Use a computed with an Internet connection, which has RiSCAN PRO installed. The version of RiSCAN PRO should be the same as the version you wish to use on the non-internet-connected computer.

1. Open the Run command by pressing Win+R and type certmgr.msc, then OK.

2. Browse to Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Certificates.

3. Select all certificates in the list (CTRL+A), right click and choose "All Tasks - Export".

4. Choose "Personal Information Exchange - PKCS #12 (.PFX)". Click Next and enter a password.

5. Click Next and enter a filename e.g. "Trusted Root Certification Authorities.pfx". Click Next, then Finish to export the file.

6. Transfer the exported "Trusted Root Certification Authorities.pfx" to the computer with no Internet connection.

Import the certificates

1. On the computer with no Internet connection, double-click the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities.pfx" file. An import wizard opens.

2. Select "Local Machine", and Next.

3. Confirm the info on the following screen, and click Next.

4. Enter the file password.

5. Choose "Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate", and click Next.

6. Check the Digital Signature details are OK.
