Symptoms
Automatic Registration 2 fails with error messages like these:

Additionally, the scanner failed to complete a scan during the data capture process - for example, the scanner ran out of power midway through a scan, or the storage was full and the scan couldn't be saved.
Cause
The AR2 licence code that is embedded in the raw data gets corrupted when the scan fails. This prevents AR2 running successfully.
Resolution
Delete the incomplete scan, unregister the project, and then perform the Automatic Registration again.
