Installing RiSCAN PRO alongside an older version

To install a new version of RiSCAN PRO alongside an existing installation, you simply need to edit the installation path during the installation wizard:

Good practice would be to append the version number, as shown in the image above. Spaces and periods can be used.

Once the installation is complete, the Start Menu and Desktop icons will normally open the previous version, so you may need to manually create new shortcuts to the new version.

Backwards compatibility

Be aware that project created in the latest version are sometimes not compatible with previous versions.

Similarly, when opening an old project that has a structure that is not compatible with the new version, RiSCAN PRO will warn you that the project definition needs to be updated. If you accept this, you will find that the project will no longer be fully compatible with older versions.
