Error: Automatic Registration 2 is not licensed

Symptoms

You encounter an error message when trying to import or register scan data that states:

"Automatic Registration 2 is not licensed".

In the Details section of the dialog box, further messages say:

"Cannot check Serial Number Licenses because there are not input file given..."
"No "Static LiDAR Data Processing" Single Instance License found."

Cause

There are a few possible causes for this error. They are listed below, along with solutions.

Licensing issues

RiSCAN PRO / RiSOLVE software licences are not configured correctly - perhaps the licence codes have expired, or the green dongle is not detected by Windows.

Incomplete data capture

On-board registration was enabled on the scanner during data capture, but one or more scans failed to complete successfully, or the scanner shut down whilst carrying out a processing task related to the registration. In this case, the registration files that RiSCAN PRO is trying to use are corrupted.

To resolve this, unregister the project and try to register it again. To unregister the project, right-click the SCANS folder in the Project Manager panel, and click "Unregister...". To register it again, run the One Touch Wizard and tick "Register Scan Positions" and then Start.

Corrupted data download

The data download from the scanner may not have been complete, causing issues with missing files once imported into RiSCAN PRO. Try downloading the data again and importing it into a new RiSCAN PRO project.
